STEP 8 - THE COUNTRY MAN

broken image

It is quite possible that you make your home in a very different environment than the city, but no less busy and difficult. Each lifestyle comes with its own unique trials and challenges. Living and working in the country means working outside, and that can equate to dry skin, sun exposure, and animal care. Let’s talk about each of these.

Our ALL NATURAL HAND AND BODY LOTION is a fragrance free lotion perfect for blending with your favorite Essential Oil for a customized aromatic experience. Formulated with conditioning emollients and natural botanical extracts, this ALL NATURAL HAND AND BODY LOTION keeps your skin feeling healthy and hydrated.

USES

Apply generous amounts to hands and body to relieve dryness. Mix with the Essential Oil of your choice in the palm of your hand for a customized aromatic experience.

PRIMARY BENEFITS

  • A gentle blend of extracts from broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, mustard, kale, and wasabi help skin look its best.
  • Algae extract naturally conditions and smoothes the skin.
  • An organic compound from licorice improves the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking.
  • Vitamin C and vitamin E contribute powerful antioxidant protection.
  • Olive fruit unsaponifiables help soften and smooth dry skin.

With the option to add beneficial Essential Oils to your lotion, Myrrh, Frankincense, and Cedarwood are great choices that support healthy skin with pleasant smoky, woody, herbaceous, and earthy scents.

After spending some time exposed to the sun and the heat, it is always nice to cool your body and to soothe your skin. You can apply Essential Oils topically with a carrier oil, such as Fractionated Coconut Oil, or make your own soothing spray.

AFTER SUN SPRAY

  • 4 Oz Spray Bottle
  • 10 Drops Peppermint
  • 10 Drops Lavender
  • 10 Drops Melaleuca

Top off with water. Shake before spraying.

What about animal care? Here’s a quick principle: when it comes to Essential Oils, cows and horses will be similar in what you are able to use; goats and sheep are similar to dogs; chickens and ducks are similar to birds.

Have you ever met a temperamental goat? Try some drops of LAVENDER around the sleeping area, in the stall, or on the muzzle. This oil can also help with respiratory issues.
Need to clean the chicken coop?

Make an ALL NATURAL CLEANER with LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL:

  • 8 oz Water
  • 8 oz White Vinegar
  • 30 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Here we have a great recipe for all animals in the home and on the farm.

ALL NATURAL WOUND OINTMENT

  • 4 ounce mason jar
  • 4 ounces of solid coconut oil
  • 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 15 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
Melt the coconut oil, add the Essential Oils and mix. Allow to harden in the container. Ready for use! If you leave it in a warm area it will liquify. Use a wooden craft stick / popsicle stick to apply.
Last point for the Country Man: out in the farmyard, you will have trouble with lots of flies and mosquitoes. We have a great recipe to spray on livestock and sleeping areas.

NATURAL INSECT SPRAY RECIPE:

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 25 drops of OUTDOOR BLEND ESSENTIAL OIL

Do not leave outside. Keep at room temperature.
Mix and keep in GLASS spray bottle. Shake before spraying. You will need to spray every one to two days as needed.

Now, if you are dealing with any bothersome insects, and don’t prefer the DIY recipe above, our OUTDOOR BLEND now comes in a SPRAY to help keep bugs at bay! We’ll talk more about that later…
